Telegram Stars payments

Telegram Stars payment integration for bots and Mini Apps

In-app purchases with Stars: invoices, payment confirmation, delivery of what the user bought, refunds and reports, built into your bot or Mini App.

  • Invoices and payment confirmation
  • Order handling and refunds
  • Works in bots and Mini Apps

What are Telegram Stars?

Stars are Telegram's in-app currency. Users buy Stars through Telegram and spend them on digital goods and services inside bots and Mini Apps, without entering card details in your product. Telegram's terms govern how Stars are sold, how developers receive value and what may be sold with them.

Stars suit digital items such as game purchases, subscriptions, content access and premium features.

We read the current developer terms with you at the start of the project, so the catalog and pricing you plan are allowed before any code is written.

How does the payment flow work?

Your bot or Mini App creates an invoice for a defined price. The user confirms in Telegram, and Telegram tells your server the payment succeeded. Your server then checks the payment, records the order and delivers the item. We build each step so a repeated or delayed message cannot deliver an item twice.

  1. Create the invoice from your server
  2. Answer the pre-checkout query
  3. Verify the successful payment event
  4. Deliver, log and confirm to the user

What else do we build around payments?

The payment itself is a small part of the work. We add the pieces that keep a shop running.

  • A catalog of items with prices you can change
  • Order history and a refund command for admins
  • Subscription renewals where Telegram supports them
  • Reports for support and bookkeeping

For storefronts, see Telegram stores, and for access control see community bots.

Yes. Many products offer Stars for the simplest checkout and add TON or a card processor for users and goods Stars does not cover. Each rail has its own fees, payout rules and risks, so we map them with you before building. Our pricing page lists typical package ranges.

What limits should we plan for?

Stars depend on Telegram's platform rules, which can change, including what you may sell, how Stars convert to value and how refunds work. Rules for taxes and digital goods differ by country, and they are your responsibility. We cannot promise store approval, sales or revenue. We recommend reading Telegram's current terms for developers before you plan your pricing.

Questions about telegram app agency in United States

How long does Stars integration take?

Adding Stars to a bot is typically part of a core Telegram bot, which runs about $2,500 to $4,500 with delivery in 7 to 10 days. A turnkey Mini App with Stars and a referral engine typically runs $6,500 to $12,500 over 2 to 3 weeks. Scope and feedback speed change both, and a written quote follows a scoping chat.

Can we sell physical goods with Stars?

Telegram's rules limit what Stars may be used for, and the rules can change. Physical goods are usually handled with a different payment provider. Check Telegram's current terms for what is allowed in your case. We design the checkout so the payment method can be switched without rebuilding the rest of the shop.

How do refunds work?

Telegram provides a way for a bot to refund a Stars payment, and we build it into an admin command with a logged reason. Your refund policy is your decision, and it should be written clearly in the bot. We make sure a refund also removes or reverses what was delivered, so records stay consistent.

How are payments kept safe from fake confirmations?

Our servers act only on payment events that Telegram sends, and we check each one against the order it belongs to. We never trust a message from the Mini App alone to grant an item. Every payment and delivery is logged, so mismatches are easy to find. This lowers risk, it does not remove it.

Do users need to leave Telegram to pay?

No. The invoice opens inside Telegram, and the user confirms the payment there, so the checkout feels like part of the chat or Mini App. That removes the card form from your product, which many users prefer. Telegram controls the payment screen and its wording, so we design around it and do not change it.
